Training maps

A course can be printed on a map with only some of its symbols, and a Map area shows another variant of the map in part of it. The original map is never changed. It needs an OCAD or Mapper map: a PDF map is a picture and cannot be split into symbols.

  1. 1Open the course settings and choose under Map: Whole map, Without paths and roads or Contours only (brown).
  2. 2For a technique exercise: choose Map area under Special objects and click the corners of the area on the map.
  3. 3Tap the area to choose Map in the area, turn it into a Circle or Square with a size in metres and switch on Purple edge around the area.
  4. 4For a corridor course: tick Corridor along the legs in the course settings, enter Width (m) and choose what goes Outside: White, Faded map or one of the variants.
Without paths and roads
Roads, vehicle tracks, paths and rides are removed, by the symbols' numbers in ISOM.
Contours only (brown)
Only the contours, the other landforms (ISOM 1xx) and the north lines are left.
Corridor
The map only shows along the legs and follows the bends. The width is the whole corridor's, in metres in the terrain. White and Faded map also work with a PDF map.
  • The training map goes into the PDF but not into Purple Pen. The phone always shows the whole map when putting out controls, since the person hanging them needs to see everything.
  • If you move a corner of a circle or square, it becomes a free area again.
